Featuring international wildlife experts, activists and for the first-time ever, the seal hunters of the Canadian Magdalen Islands this documentary sheds light on the controversial practice of seal hunting.

Four decades ago, animal conservation groups and celebrities like Brigitte Bardot publicly denounced the centuries old hunt as inhumane and abusive.

Today, seal hunting still attracts considerable world attention. Other celebrities such Paul Watson, Brian Davies, Sir Paul McCartney, Martin Sheen, Richard Dean Anderson have publicly expressed their opinions on this issue.

In this ongoing war, the documentary gives voice to the lesser-known side. Gaining the seal hunters’ trust, the filmmaker is allowed to document their hunts and their views on how they earn their livelihood. Their perspective raises questions of environmental impact, as well as political, economical and moral concerns. Internationally recognized and respected experts also bring their knowledge and thoughts to the film.

Furthermore, we learn of the growing market for seal-derived products around the world.
